What is the best first upgrade for a Sur-Ron?
For most riders it is suspension — fork oil and a rear shock upgrade transform how the bike rides for well under $300. A controller and battery upgrade adds speed but is a bigger job; do the suspension first and you will enjoy the bike more immediately.

Can I make my Sur-Ron faster with a sprocket change?
A smaller rear or larger front sprocket raises top speed at the cost of acceleration and hill-climbing, for around $29–$149. It is the cheapest speed change you can make, but it does not add power — for that you need a controller and battery upgrade.
