Batteries & Chargers β Frequently Asked Questions
What battery does a Sur-Ron use?
The Sur-Ron Light Bee X uses a 60V/40Ah pack, the Hyper Bee a 50.4V pack, the Ultra Bee a 74V/60Ah pack and the Storm Bee an 84V pack. OEM replacements are a straight swap; upgrade packs from Chi, eWatt and EBMX add range or power.
Should I upgrade my Sur-Ron to a 72V battery?
If you only want more range, stay on 60V and fit a higher-capacity pack β it is simpler and cheaper. If you want more speed and power, a 72V or 81V pack is the route, but it also requires an aftermarket controller such as the EBMX X-9000 at around $499.
Can you use Milwaukee or DeWalt batteries on a STACYC?
Adapters exist for Milwaukee M18, DeWalt 20V and Makita 18V packs at roughly $75β$80. Be aware: power tool battery adapters void the STACYC manufacturer warranty on electrical components, are limited to 5Ah batteries, and are not an official STACYC product.
How long does an electric dirt bike battery last?
Most lithium packs hold usable capacity for several hundred charge cycles, typically three to five years of regular riding. Avoid storing a pack fully charged or fully flat, keep it out of extreme heat, and use the correct charger for its voltage.
